TEXICON Concrete Bags are cylindrical fabric forms that assume a flattened cross section when filled. Ranging in size from eighty pounds to over 150 tons, they have the required mass and stability to withstand attack by waves and rapidly flowing water. Since they are filled in place, they can adapt to variations in the subgrade or bottom contour. Concrete Bag installations do not require dewatering, a crucial advantage in emergency repair to bridge piers scoured by flood waters. Fabric forms can be positioned and filled from the surface in shallow water or by divers in deeper water. TEXICON Concrete Bag forms are installed as adjacent concrete units and pumped with a high strength structural grout. The structural grout is pumped and formed under pressure, resulting in rapid stiffening, improved concrete properties and prolonged installation life. Compared to stone rip rap, Concrete Bag forms are far easier and less expensive to deploy. This factor becomes especially critical when sensitive ecological zones, wetlands or poor soil conditions make moving heavy equipment to the site difficult or impossible. |
